Mary Baker Eddy's Essay: Woman's Hour

I feel it is appropriate to share this message below at the beginning of this new year, as I am full of hope for all mankind, having read this message by the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science this morning, and being uplifted by it.   Today, we are seeing mankind reaching out for freedom from the indignities of tyranny.  Women, as well as men, are uniting in rising up and rebelling against indignities and unjust laws in treatment of their sisters.  I am thinking particularly in places in the Middle East, because through Facebook, I became aware of this by our sisters reaching out for support.  I realize that, just as it is certain for men, women everywhere also have a natural right to be free from the implications of the Adam dream.   Woman was NOT taken from Adam.  This belief that woman is subordinate and not equal to the male gender will be proven to be deleterious to all mankind, keeping him closer in kind to animals, in contrast to the reality recorded in Genesis 1:27: So God created man in his [own] image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

In the chapter entitled, "Glossary," Mary Baker Eddy gives the metaphysical interpretation of Gihon, one of the four rivers  parted from the one leading from the mythical Garden of Eden of Genesis 2:  GIHON (river). The rights of woman acknowledged morally, civilly, and socially. (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, 587:3)

My new song, on giving

WHAT HAVE I TO GIVE, LORD? by amaryhart
(Please wait while the player loads; sometimes the traffic is busy!)

God is good, and good He gives to you.
Look within your heart, and you will find
the riches of His love to meet someone's need.
What have I to give, Lord?
What have I to give?
Heaven is within you: open your heart and see,
the Christ is here to be.
Open your heart and see,
the Christ is here to be.
What have I to give, Lord?
What have I to give?
I have good to give, Lord.
What shall it be?
I have good to give, Lord.
What shall it be?
I have love to give, Lord.
I shall love.
I have life to give, Lord.
I shall live,
   praising Thee,
   for You are All-in-all
   to me.
